About Us

David Payne Drama is a theatrical company based in the USA and UK and was originally founded to present stage productions based on the life and writings of C.S. Lewis.

Although these still form a major part of our theatrical work, a number of new productions written by our Creative Director, David Payne, have recently been added.

Rising Image Productions is the video production unit of David Payne Drama

About Our Creative Director

When British born actor, David Payne, was given a copy of C.S. Lewis’ best selling book Screwtape Letters, little did he realize that some 40 years later he would be gaining a reputation for his portrayals of its famous author. He has played Lewis in a number of productions of Shadowlands, in his self-penned Weep for Joy and, in numerous presentations of An Evening with C.S. Lewis.

Today Payne tours throughout the US and UK and when not performing is usually shooting a new production or writing. His latest shoot is a live recording of his self penned stage production, St Jack & The Dragon, a touching yet at times hilarious story about C.S. Lewis and his adopted mother, Mrs. Moore, due for release in March 2010. Also due for release on DVD in March 2010 is his musical Target Practice and A man called Jack, A woman called Joy, an on location version of An Evening with C S Lewis.

Payne, who was born in London, is married to the beautiful Marilyn, with whom he has two handsome sons and three cute grand children.
