About UsDavid Payne Drama is a theatrical company based in the USA and UK and was originally founded to present stage productions based on the life and writings of C.S. Lewis. Although these still form a major part of our theatrical work, a number of new productions written by our Creative Director, David Payne, have recently been added.
About Our Creative Director
When British born actor, David Payne, was given a copy of C.S. Lewis’ best selling book Screwtape Letters, little did he realize that some 40 years later he would be gaining a reputation for his portrayals of its famous author. He has played Lewis in a number of productions of Shadowlands, in his self-penned Weep for Joy and, in numerous presentations of An Evening with C.S. Lewis.
His musical Target Practice has now been expanded to a full cast show and features a cantankerous professor attempting to teach a bunch of unruly junior fiends how to trip up their human targets and his latest stage production is his self-penned drama, St Jack & The Dragon, a touching yet at times hilarious story about C.S. Lewis and his adopted mother, Mrs. Moore.
Recently released are his latest DVD’s - An Evening with C.S. Lewis, Prisoner of Passion, and Relative Surprise.
Payne, who was born in London, is married to the beautiful Marilyn, with whom he has two handsome sons and three cute grand children.
