This children’s classic by C.S. Lewis is set in World War 2 when bombs are dropping all over the London. For their safety, four children Lucy, Edmond, Susan and Peter are sent to the country house of an eccentric professor. It is a large house with many rooms, one of which contains a large mysterious wardrobe. When first Lucy and then the others enter this wardrobe they find themselves in the magical world of Narnia which is inhabited by talking animals, mystical creatures and giants. Narnia, however, is ruled by an evil White Witch. When Edmund falls under her spell he can only be freed if the noble Lion of Narnia, Aslan, will offer himself in Edmund’s place. The Witch believes that Aslan’s death will secure her hold forever on the land of Narnia. Little does she realize that Aslan will come back to life and, with the children, lead the fight to forever end her evil rule.
